Maintains quality through a rigorous editorial and peer-review system.
The African Journal of Education for Peace and Mindset Change is a scholarly journal that accepts high quality manuscripts and maintains quality through a rigorous editorial and peer-review system. Authors are therefore urged to pay deliberate attention to every aspect of the manuscript in order not to compromise on the quality.
Peer-review is the tool for quality control of the scholarly and intellectual content of the articles. Manuscripts are subjected to an online peer review system. At least two reviewers give their assessments on the paper upon which a verdict is given by the Editorial Board or Chief Editor. The verdict may be to accept the paper without corrections, to accept with minor corrections, accept resubmission after major corrections or to reject.
The editorial function is generally to ensure that the manuscripts meet the expectations of the journal of adherence to minimum publication standards. As such, the editors scrutinize the manuscripts for harmony in their external structure. This includes inter alia the titling and attribution of the manuscripts, the structure of articles, language and punctuation, the formatting of text and aids (tables, formulas, charts, etc), citations and references. For a detailed guide to the preparation of manuscripts that meet the journal’s editorial policy, see the Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation.
