She is a Member of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Karamoja Peace And Technology University.
Gertrude is a faculty member in the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. Previously, she lectured at Uganda Christian University (UCU) and Kyambogo University, contributing to curriculum development, research projects, and student mentorship.
Her work focuses on land restoration, ecosystem service valuation, environmental policy and governance, climate change adaptation, and integrated natural resource management.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education (Mathematics and Geography) and a Master’s degree in Geography from Kyambogo University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Planning and Management at Kenyatta University under a DAAD PhD scholarship. She has also completed several professional fellowships and short-term study programs, including a United Nations University fellowship in Land Restoration and Sustainable Land Management at the Agricultural University of Iceland, a DAAD-sponsored fellowship in Environmental and Remote Sensing Data Analysis at Goethe University (Germany), and a course in Artificial Intelligence in Education at the University of Bergen, supported through its sponsorship program.
