Pamela Kabod is a Ugandan and dedicated agriculturalist with high level of practical knowledge and skills in sustainable crop production systems, plant breeding and biotechnology, post harvest physiology and management and other allied areas in sustainable development. A national trainer of plant doctors under PlantwisePlus of CABI/MAAIF.
She holds a BSc. Agriculture from Makerere University (1998), an MSc. (Crop Science) from Makerere University (2001), and a Ph.D. candidate in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology, Makerere University. She has close to 10 years’ experience working at Uganda Christian University in teaching and research on aspects of plant, and biological sciences, including agronomy, botany, breeding, physiology and agribusiness. She has interests in innovative development of sustainable, ethical and profitable agricultural systems to optimize yield and quality of agri-based products. She has been practically engaged in community outreaches in training diverse stakeholders in the agricultural sector ranging from primary, secondary and post-secondary as well as farmers and farming communities. She is currently involved in vegetable research with special focus in improving sustainable utilization of plant genetic resources with a special focus on African Indigenous Vegetables.
