Overview And Experience

Prof. Rev. Fr. Calisto Locheng, A.J., PhD, is a religious missionary who serves as the Vice Chancellor of the Karamoja Peace and Technology University (KAPATU) Project. He has worked at the University of the Sacred Heart in Gulu, Uganda, as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Previously, before going to Gulu, he worked at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa as a Lecturer, Head of Department, and Dean of a Faculty. He has also worked as a Lecturer of Philosophy at Alokolum National Major Seminary in Gulu, an affiliate College of the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome.

He has emphasised the need for seminaries to nurture young men who can apply their learning to real-life situations and embrace self-sacrifice. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the Higher Education Students Financing Board of the Republic of Uganda.
