This decision was made during a special cabinet meeting held at State House Entebbe on December 16. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who also serves as the university’s Founding Chancellor, chaired the meeting. Vice President Jessica Alupo, the university’s Deputy Chancellor, also attended.
KAPATU aims to be a catalyst for changing mindsets and transforming the Karamoja sub region and Ateker region, thereby fostering accelerated socioeconomic development not only in Karamoja and Uganda but also in the wider Great Lakes Region and the African continent.
The main campus of this University is at Christ the King Catholic Parish, Losilang, Kotido Municipality, Kotido District, Karamoja Sub-region in North Eastern Uganda.
